Welcome to Housewife Plus!

My blog has been home to a vibrant WordPress community where lots of talented writers share their voices and experiences. My voice, however felt drowned out by the zillions of other Mom bloggers. I wanted to create a dialog with parents closer to me geographically and so, with fingers crossed, I pitched my little blog to the Bangor Daily News. And would you believe it? They accepted Housewife Plus into their amazing community of bloggers!

Housewife Plus features stories from my perspective about the everyday experiences my family has while working and living in rural Maine. My husband is a wooden boat builder and I am a writer and artist. Together we practice gentle living and natural parenting with our two young sons. While I aim to be a cool and calm Mom extraordinaire, calamity usual follows me through my daily routine from cloth diapers to composting. Thank God for wine.

I am excited to be welcomed into the blog community of the Bangor Daily News and to share my stories with you, dear readers. Housewife Plus is intended to be a humorous account of Maine life from the perspective of this Maine Mom. I welcome your comments!

Please enjoy!
