We are looking for stories that can be read aloud in a 5 minute time frame. Stories may be previously published on blogs or in print. Although the central theme MUST be about motherhood, we are open to stories that are funny, sad, serious, poignant, and anything in between!
LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER (LTYM) is a one day live staged-reading event giving local writers the opportunity to share their stories of motherhood. The event is Thursday, May 7th at 7:30 PM at The Gracie Theatre in Bangor, Maine.
What: LTYM, is an acclaimed series created by founder and National Director Ann Imig in 2010. LTYM is now in 39 cities nationwide that will be hosting similar events on or around Mother’s Day, and all 39 shows will be videotaped for LTYM’s YouTube channel . **New for 2015**: LTYM also anticipates the publication of the anthology LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER: What She Said Then, What We’re Saying Now coming from Putnam & Son (a division of Penguin) on April 7th, and available for preorder now.
10% of Bangor ticket proceeds will benefit SPRUCE RUN and LTYM will fund-raise on behalf of SPRUCE RUN at the event.
When: Auditions are FRIDAY February 6th from 5:00-7:00 PM at ERA DAWSON offices at 417 Main Street Bangor, Maine 04401

Auditions are by appointment only.
How: To audition please contact SARAH COTTRELL via email, email@example.com with the word “AUDITION” in the subject line. Please include your name, contact number, and availability. Appointments will be first-come/first-serve until all slots are filled. AUDITION PIECES SHOULD NOT EXCEED 5 MINUTES.

- plan to arrive at least 10 minutes before your appointment to fill out an audition form
Previously published work accepted as long as author retains full rights or has express permission to read the work for the event.
Who: LTYM Bangor is produced by SARAH COTTRELL. Sarah is a Bangor Daily News blogger and regular contributor to the Huffington Post, BlogHer, and Scary Mommy. Her work has appeared in two popular anthologies, Clash of the Couples.
