Have you ever noticed that marketers are playing a little too fast and loose with regard to when they start slinging their holiday merchandise? I just walked into the grocery store and found a wall of Halloween stuff already on sale. At the cafe I go to nearly every day for a coffee I was asked if I’d like to try a shot of pumpkin spice.
Pumpkin spice obsession in particular kind of weird. Have you noticed all the stuff that comes in this flavor? There is Jello, air freshener, chips, candles, body soaps, shampoo, lotions, whey shakes, mints (WTH?), body sprays, perfume, baby powder, cookies, clothing, home decor, videos on YouTube, face masks.
This is what I imagine pumpkin spice die-hards to be like:
The last time I checked the calendar it is still summer, the air is still humid, and Labor Day is just around the corner. Let’s all agree to hold off on the pumpkin spice until September 22, 2016. People, calm down. Fall will be here soon enough.
